During AWE USA 2026, the global extended reality community celebrated not only new devices and technological breakthroughs, but also one of the most important ceremonies in the immersive ecosystem: the Auggie Awards. Since 2010, the awards have honored the companies, developers, and projects driving innovation across augmented, virtual, and mixed reality.

This year’s results reveal an industry increasingly shaped by the convergence of XR and artificial intelligence.

One of the biggest winners was Google. The company received the award for Best Consumer App with Google Maps XR, while its project XR Vibe Coding with XR Blocks and Gemini won Best Use of AI. Both awards highlight how artificial intelligence is becoming deeply integrated into spatial experiences and immersive applications.

Another notable winner was Spectacles, Snap’s smart glasses platform, which received the award for Best Headworn Device. The recognition comes at a significant moment for the company, following the introduction of its latest generation of AR glasses and its continued investment in spatial computing.

The ceremony also reinforced the strength of the enterprise XR market. FabStation, developed by Eterio Realities, was named Best Enterprise Solution, while ARVIS by Enovis won in the Healthcare & Wellness category. Meanwhile, SecureMR by PICO received the Ethical XR Product of the Year award, a category gaining importance as AI adoption and data management become increasingly relevant within immersive environments.

In location-based entertainment, Interstellar Arc by Felix & Paul Studios earned the award for Best Location-Based Entertainment (LBE), reinforcing another trend that was highly visible throughout AWE 2026: the continued growth of out-of-home XR experiences.

The Auggie Awards also recognized projects focused on social impact and immersive storytelling. Among them were Cooper’s Clean Air Quest by YORD, which won in the Societal Impact category, and D-Day: The Camera Soldier by TARGO, awarded Best Art or Film.

Beyond the individual winners, the Auggie Awards 2026 send a clear message to the XR industry. Artificial intelligence is becoming a foundational layer of spatial computing, enterprise applications continue to generate measurable value, and immersive experiences are expanding into new formats and markets.

Taken together, the awards provide a compelling snapshot of the current state of XR: an industry no longer defined solely by hardware, but increasingly by how AI, software, and content can transform the way people work, learn, create, and interact with the digital world.
